Autodesk Alias Design and Autodesk Inventor are both part of the Product Design Suite 2012 and allow users to insert surface geometry created within Alias Design into Inventor. This example shows the hull of a yacht that has been created as surface data within Alias Design. That surface has then been inserted into Autodesk Inventor so that the sturcture can be engineered. Because the link between the Alias Design data and Autodesk Inventor is associative, when the original surface is modified, the engineering data in Inventor is automatically updated.
